Paper Policy and Guidelines

 DEADLINE

The deadline for submitting the final version of the paper is May 15, 2010.

Submission of the paper signifies that the participant agrees to the GRM Participation and Copyright Agreement (click here)

LANGUAGE

All papers should be written in English language. There will be no translation at the meeting. A good working knowledge of English is essential for participation in the workshops.   

PAPER FORMAT

Papers should be submitted electronically in Word format in a single file containing all text, graphs, cover page, etc. by email to:

Papers should have a length of 25 pages in 1.5 line spacing (approx. 8,500 words or 60,000 characters with spaces). This includes all footnotes, endnotes, references, tables and graphs.

Papers should include an updated abstract of approx. 400 words.

The following formatting rules should be followed:

  • Paper Size:

  • Cover Page:
  • Should include ONLY Workshop Number, Title of Paper, Name(s) of Author(s), Institution(s), E-mail Address(es)
  • Margins:
  • 2.5 cm for top, bottom, left and right margins
  • Line Spacing:
  • 1.5 lines
  • Font for Text:
  • Times New Roman 12 pt.
  • Font for Quotations:
  • Times New Roman 11 pt.
  • Font for Notes:
  • Times New Roman 10 pt.
  • Page Numbering:
  • Center Bottom
  • Headers & Footers:
  • No
  • Tables and Graphs:
  • Should be grated and inserted at the end of the paper
  • Alignment:
  • Justified (Left and Right)
  • Software:
  • MS Word
  • Pictures:

    PAPER COPIES

    No paper copies will be provided at the meeting. All participants will receive a CD-ROM that includes all papers presented at the GRM. After the meeting, copies of the papers will be made available through a web link (with login and password protection).

    TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT

    Overhead Projectors and projectors for Power Point presentations will be available in all workshop rooms. Participants must bring their own laptop for the Power Point presentations. No computers will be available in the seminar rooms.

    FINAL SUBMISSION

    Following the conclusion of the GRM, all participants will be given until August 31, 2010 for paper revision. If a sufficient number of quality papers are available from an individual workshops, these papers will be published as an edited volume by the Gulf Research Center. If for a particular workshop this is not the case, the Gulf Research Center holds the right of first refusal and the possibility of publishing individual quality papers in a GRM Paper series.
