Travel info
Participants receive a travel allowance based on their country of departure. This is a flat amount and is not negotiable. Participants cover their own accommodation costs although special prices are negotiated with University of Cambridge. For further information, please consult the information sheet for participants.
ARRIVAL
Prior to the meeting, you will receive precise instruction for how to get to the meeting venue. There will be no transportation service provided from London or surrounding areas to the meeting at Cambridge. Each participant is responsible to arrange for their own arrival and departure. You will be provided with options for car, train or other public transportation.
ATTENDANCE
All participants are expected to arrive by the afternoon on Wednesday, July 7th and stay until after lunch on Saturday July 10th.
TRAVEL ALLOWANCE
The Gulf Research Meeting provides each participant with a travel allowance based on the country of departure. The allowance is calculated on the average prices of tickets from respective regions. Participants will receive their travel allowance during the Gulf Research Meeting in cash (EURO). There are no allowances provided prior to the meeting, only during the meeting itself.

VISA
All those participants that require a visa for the UK will receive a letter of invitation to facilitate visa procedures. The Gulf Research Meeting is not responsible for arranging the visa. Each participant must ensure that they apply for the required visa on time and that they meet all requirements for the visa process.
ACCOMMODATION
Participants pay for their own accommodation. Special rates will be made available. There will also be different price categories to choose from. Rates include breakfast and all taxes:
Accommodation will be provided at Cambridge University and will include both en-suite and non en-suite facilities. All rooms will be within walking distance to the meeting venue.
Failure to show up for the meeting will result in cancellation fees. Cancellations must be communicated at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTION TO EITHER THE TRAVEL ALLOWANCE SYSTEM OR THE ACCOMMODATION RULES
